Not sure if I like that woman being there in the background or not. I think it would have been better without, but she kind of adds something as well.

What's heartbreaking about this image is to see that young girl addicted to cigarettes. Why did you find it necessary to include her in the image?

On the other hand, she distracts from the fact that the tones in blind accordianist part of the image are lacking contrast and depth.

However, all together, this is a captivating photo.

(yeah, I get it. My argument is semantic. This photograph would be quite different without the smoker, but could stand alone quite successfully. I don't think that the girl is vital to the shot. I think that the blind accordianist is vital to the shot.)

Of course...for this theme the musician is enough,...but for a photograph outside of this them, the impact triples with the girl there, because of the message and the balance she brings.

I decided to keep the girl in the image because I was wondering if the accordianist had any idea of her presence and/or indifference. I'm guessing he could smell the smoke so he probably knows she's there, but I wonder if he was aware how blind she was to him.

As with pretty much all of my images I didn't take this picture specifically for this theme so what you see is what you... see.

Wow! Wonderful urban capture. At first I was not sure if the girl in the background was helpful, but I really feel she helps add to the identity of the environment.
