I like the composition, especially the shadows; but the quality of light is just a bit too far on the bright side.

Ah, the street-side pianist. You see those all the time. ;-)
I just wish you had walked around and shot this scene from the side the sun is on. As it is, you're fighting the sunlight and the image is almost lost.

Thanks guys. Kadenajack and eggplant, I worked this from 20 different angles for about 15 minutes, but either the backgrounds weren't right, or the subjects made no sense. So I decided to shoot straight into the light.
Btw, I posted this after commenting on Image 94 - it's the same piano. I have a shot like that too (in close) but really wanted something more isolated, with no action in the background. It's not a perfect shot in my mind, I just get a kick out of having an image at the same location, with the same prop.

Well, both times I have posted this piano you have commented so I will return the favour. Great find. I think this is great - a piano at the beach. I agree about the quality of the performers - at least on the day I was there. :)

It is kind of weird isn't it? I agree about the angles. My shot had the same difficulty with the sun. Btw - how could I not give this good scores? :)

LOL, thanks. Yeah, Venice Beach is hard to shoot. The sun is always harsh, but if there's no sun the people don't come out. I could work with reflectors and try and light it that way, but that's hardly "Street Photography".

Man a public piano is such a cool idea.

Is this the same Venice Beach piano from #94?
