The tones and grain work well for the subject matter. It seems like the timing was just a little off. If the person blocking the guitar player was just a little farther to the left, it would have made the shot a lot stronger. It's a nice shot though, capturing something so many people see but never notice...

I do get a real sense of motion here

This is a good photograph, I'm guessing your intention was to show 'lack of motion'? That's what this image says to me.
