This is such an elegant image that is the epitome of a juxtapose. So well composed, captured and lit. The environment is necessary in this image to convey the moment and you were wise to include all of the elements here. The darkness of the foreground subject adds much to his expression forcing the viewer to pay closer attention to his presence. Really well done.

I like the background but wish I could see the boy better and that he was looking at the camera. Where is this- Mongolia, Tibet?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. This was taken in a nomad herder tent in Tibet while trekking from Ganden Monetary to Samye Monastery. We spent a night here after several hours of tramping through knee deep snow. I don't think they had met many if any foreigners, and the boy in the middle was delighted when I taught him how to make card houses. He spent hours just trying to get his up to three levels.
