I love the idea and the composition, it seems a bit out of focus though. Ther also appears to be a yellowish fringe around the leaves (?)

Well, you know how sycamore keys come in two's, attached at the top. This is the bottom part of that as they get larger.

Could have been for negative space! I like the idea and compostion, but wish it were a little sharper

I think it is sharp but the lightbox has blunted this by burning the detail a little. I had the camera on a tripod for this and was very much in control of the focus. I done shots like this before and this occurs, don't forget, those veins are beneath the outer layer so will not appear sharp as they are being projected through a layer before the naked eye/camera sees it.

Well, yeah, I follow now, when you said pod it thre me but yes, the 'key' is a vessel for transporting a seed, be it in a much more exciting manner. We're reading off the same page in a different langauge. :-D

The fact that I cannot figure out what I'm looking at bothers me too much.
Also, the lack of an accented focal point is a problem here.

No idea if this is a plant, or ?? Whether the white is empty space, or flowing milk, or ?? I like that I'm forced to guess what this is about. The image is abstract and kind of organic in nature. I like it!

Wow. What is it??? Here were the thoughts that struck me:

1. Milk spilled on bark
2. Close up on an eyeball
3. Flesh and veins and...milk?
4. Two petals separated by space.

Terrific shot. I like it a lot. Perhaps if the "petals" were just a tad sharper I'd love it.

Congrats on a wonderfully interesting and effective image as far as I'm concerned.

This image is different and has me curious what the actual subject is. I think the divided image is different and daring in concept. The veins, or whatever they are, stand out. Technically it is well done. The only thing that hurts this for me is that I don't know what it is or its scale.
