Aghhh...I didn't see the one that got featured!! I hate it when people just go out and copy a featured shot, and here I have gone and done it! Apologies to Cferroni.

trying to tell if this is a different light than the first one posted!

dcreighton said 583 days ago:

I'm left feeling like I've seen this one before... well almost.

philippe said 583 days ago:

Is this the same light bulb as before? Nice shot, BTW.

CraigMartin said 583 days ago:

I know, it sure looks exactly like the bulb Cferroni shot, much to my chagrin. I noticed this bulb while lying on a friend's couch, and started thinking it would make a cool macro shot for this week's theme. After shooting a few shots and seeing the result I got quite excited by the possibilities, thinking it would be really different and creative. I spent about half an hour mulling over the different angles I had shot, before settling on this one. And it is virtually the same as Cferroni's featured shot!

In retrospect, I figure I must have seen his shot, even if didn't register consciously when I was getting all excited about this bulb. Ah well. Next time I hope my creative epiphany will be really original.

Justly, this shot is scoring a little under feature range, reflecting the "its been done before" reaction.

CraigMartin- I thought about commenting on your current predicament after realizing you didn't do it intentionally but then I realized there wasn't anything I could say to help so I figured I'd let you suffer some more... LOL. Seriously I know where you are coming from. It's tough but photographically there is very little that hasn't been done before. Sucks for us huh?

BTW this was nicely done and I judge the image on the basis of this image only and ignored the fact that it was similar to the previous.

Craig, you've done a fine job, maybe better than the other one, it's difficult to say. The only problem is you come in second place.

Dan, you raise a good point. I think everything has been done before. We live in a conceptual post-modern world. The only question is: what makes my work a bit different than everything else? Just the idea. and the way we see things. Ask Blizzard.

I have to admit Craig that I didn't even get close to commenting on this shot because of my "its been done before" reaction and I had commented on the other bulb. I really like the composition of yours, it's too bad that it wasn't featured as it is definitely worthy.
