A kaleidescope? can't really see anything through it, but the colours are great!

"A" for ingenuity and originality, however I feel the execution could be a little better.

uncommondepth said 538 days ago:

Yes, a kaleidescope. @mtmartini: like all things in life, I am sure it could be executed better. Everything can always be better, can't it? Frankly I found this to be quite tricky to get a good photograph of. I knew it wouldn't be a 'winning' shot, but what the hell.

This is great - how did you manage to take a photo of it? Actually, I'm assuming it's a kaleidoscope - it may not be. Pity's it's a bit dark around the edges, but great shot.

uncommondepth said 538 days ago:

Camera on a tripod. Then devised some kind of holder for the kaleidoscope, which was a series of boxes. A macro lens, f20, and a flashlight. The dark edges are because the kaleidoscope has a cat's eye type opening - not round or square - plus the opening is smaller than the lens.

@uncommondepth - Yes, however, in a perfect world there would be nothing to improve upon and then how boring would that be :)

Nice idea, but not high impact for me. There doesn't seem to be much emotional weight to make this more than just nice colors/shapes.

Kaleidascope? This doesn't really strike me as seeing the object being looked through as per the theme. It's colorful and that is it's strong point but compositionally it doesn't really hold me.

The inside of a Kaleidoscope?

I like all the different colors, however the reddish smudge in the top left was a little distracting. Took my focus away.
