I don't see a main subject here. Nice pattern but nothing more. I'd like to see something of the outside world.

Since it's more or less abstract, some more sharpness, especially in the bottom of the image, would have been appreciated. It's also a pity that the frame cuts one of the holes. Nice colors, that said.

This is more of a silhouette, and since we can't see anything on the other side (but for light) it's not really a looking through.

something about this image is mezmerising, it has an interesting effect on my eyes. sorry i don't think it works with the theme IMHO

CraigMartin said 538 days ago:

I think not being able to see anything on the other side undermines the relevance of the shot. It sort of looks like a confessional window, and the image of an older man's face on the other side would have made it!

Ana said 538 days ago:

Craig, I agree...my first thought was 'confessional.'

cferroni said 538 days ago:

Ana @ Craig - thanks for the feedback, that was my feel for the shot as well and found it quite appropriate, but it's obviously subjective, it is indeed looking through something from a dark place to the outside.
Anyway, this is actually a macro shot of the tyne patterns in a bowl, shot from the outside of the bowl with a flashlight inside it, in a dark room. So having a face on the other side was rather improbable...;-)
