I think that's a good point you raise, Lange, and it did cross my mind briefly before I posted this image. I would argue that the brief mentions only looking through something, it does not specifically state that there should be something at the other end, quote: "The object you're looking through has to be evident in the photo", unquote. I really appreciate your comments, and it perhaps it's something we should raise with Ana, to see how she feels....gulp!

I have to say, the quality of this is way below that of a featured image. I thank all of you who voted for this, I'm a little surprised at this....

I think the only thing really off here is the pixelation starting on the third ring. Other than that, this is a great shot and certainly worthy of being featured. I think the other meritable aspects of this shot just outweighed the one weaker area.

Well, I gave this a low score for relevance, because to me, it isn't. But it seems there were 13 other folks that thought it relevant, so I reckon how I feel is irrelevant.

That said, I did mention in the description, "A photo taken through something," and I meant for there to be a subject on the other side of the 'through' item you were using as your "frame."

But all things can be looked at all ways.

Well, I see one ring seen through another, seen through another, seen through another, etc. So, IMO there is indeed a subject to be seen through the first object. Regardless of weather it is distinct in quality.

Well this is a sophisticated, and a bit abstract in and of itself, take on the theme. I see it's relevance in this way but I was also looking at it as one object (of many circles connected within) and expecting a contrasting or different subject at the end to be looked at through those rings since I also read the theme description in that manner. Because of that internal debate this is one of a couple images I decided to not rate or comment on until it had at least the minimum ratings. Even after reading the comments, including yours which weren't exactly positive about this particular image, I'm not sure if I lean one way or another in my internal debate (damn it).

This is a great shot apart from the noise, which to me, detracts from the image. The light is very nice.
