It is fascinating to watch a building being torn down, and I think it fills a basic psychological need (similar to putting buildings up in the first place).

I find this image to be relevant and I especially like the red-headed woman in the print dress with her hands clasped behind her back, obviously caught up in the activity and likely to be there a while.

That's a pretty big crowd to watch building demolition. Was it a significant structure?
