King, they are parachuters. It was by chance that I got the shot because it was such a clear day I really couldn't see them on my lcd screen - I just kept shooting.

@ JIMJIM - I tried to crop it a bit more but found that it took something away from the image.

I thought they were a bunch of microwave popcorn bags turned into miniature hot air balloons, with some kind of sparkler or smoke bomb attached. I wondered how you got them to stay in formation, though.
