This has been done many times, but the sheer density and thus vividness coupled with the excellent compostion makes this rather lovely.

It is difficult to determine if this is a long exposure entry or not, unless you've tried to capture smoke. For everyone's information this was a 2 second exposure, so I believe it follows the parameters set by this week's theme. At just the right moment, I used a handheld flash to 'freeze' the smoke. I first saw this technique on David Nightingale's site and found he learned it from another person.

So although it is certainly not as apparent as some of the other images that it is a 'long exposure' it is. Thanks everyone.

as i tried it, i had to use a very fast shutter speed to prevent blur.

i tried to find some exif-data, but they were not in this image. ;)
