I thought we saw The End of this theme (just kidding). This powerful image certainly forces us to consider the converging and diverging lines. What is this place?

Thanks for the nice comments. This is the beach up in Santa Barbara (a couple hours north of Los Angeles).

I wish this was photoshopped, but unfortunatly they are all real - each cross had a little note on the front with the name of a soldier who had died in Iraq. I was walking the beach looking for something to photograph, and I found this.

I live in Santa Barbara and see this nearly every weekend. It has had a real impact on me to watch this grow from just a few rows of crosses to what you see here (which I might add is a small portion of "Arlington West"). This memorial covers up more of the beach every week, and I think, no matter what your opinion might be about the Iraq conflict, it is important for you to go and see this if you are visiting Santa Barbara on a Sunday.
