I think the blown highlights work well here, and I don't mind the soft focus. Nice image!

I think the joyful sentiment is there, but I would've liked to see this more in focus and not so blown out in the blanket. I might've kept a little bit more space above her head, too. This shot makes me think of campfires for some reason!

There is something about the blown out highlights that adds to this image along with the noise. I like it.
