Nice take on the theme. This is about the everyday joy you get from the ordinary things you do with your own small child. I also like the grain in the shot.

I really like the photograph. It may not immediately say joy to most folks, but to me it did, as it helped me to remember the simple joys such as shampooing my young daughter's hair and giving her a bath.

Something about this just dosn't make me feel like they are having fun getting their hair washed.

Although I can see the angle of the parent washing hair as fitting with joy, but without a happy face in the shot it just dosn't do it for me.

I also think cropping in a bit more from the bottom would make this a much more dramatic shot.

This might be more joyful for the mother than for the kid! ;) Man, I hated having my hair washed as a kid.

The girl does not look so happy, so I'm assuming the joy is the person washing their child's hair.

It's a great image. I'm not sure it says Joy to me in any way, but high marks for the other ratings.
