made me smile. i looked at the little hand feeling the water, and that alone would've made a great impact on me without the wonderful reflection :-)

The pure joy of discovery and the tactile feeling of water is captured in this image.

Wonderful and creative! I truly think this captures the essence of youthful joy in the infant/toddler! A wonderful, beautiful picture that I hope reaches the featured page!

Amazing Shot! However it looks to be a bit over exposed and the noise really distracts from it a ton. It would have also (in my opinion) had a lot more impact if you could have frozen the water coming out of the faucet.

I LOVE the idea and the subject though. The reflection in the faucet is briliant!

Hey thanks for all the comments. This photo was shot under miserable incandesant lighting without a flash. As a result, I had to shoot this at ISO 800 (and even at that high ISO still had to deal witha 1/40 sec shutter speed while hand holding the camera).

ISO 800 gives you a little bit of noise....which IMHO is alot like the "grain" you would see had the same shot been done using high sensitivity film. The only post processing was to correct the white balance (the tub and the tile that surrounds it are in reality pure white colored) and some very minor sharpening.

I have a fully functional version of PictureCode's excellent Noise Ninja software, which I could have used to make this image virtually "noiseless". But I made the choice to leave the grain in it because removing it seemed to take just a little bit of "life" out of the photo.

The digital medium is great (it is the only one I use in fact) but just because you CAN use technology to get perfectly smooth images in nearly all cirumstances, doesn't mean that you always SHOULD.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite photos, so I am glad to have the opportunity to share it with the WeeklyShot community.
