On 9/23/05, the launch of a Minotaur rocket occurred at approximately 19:25 PST, carrying DARPA's Streak technology demonstration satellite. It was an absolutely spectacular scene, but I didn't get an image of the rocket streaking skyward, and only managed a few of the contrails as they slowly drifted in the wind. Those are two power lines visible in front of the cloud. I had to laugh when I read your super hero with pants on fire comment! Ha!!

I have no idea what it is - but it's kind of cool. There seem t obe two lines going through the image, so I assume it is something big in the sky. Aurora Borealis? Sky writing at night? A super-hero with his pants on fire?
