I think the photoshopped blur doesn't help this image. I guess you did it to try and get it to fit the theme but it just doesn't quite work for me.

I hadn't thought of the theme as "help the photographer", but I like it. I think the centered composition works well too.

Selective blurring doesn't really make this more threatening, took me a couple of looks to get the relevance. The focus fx feels forced.
