That looks like heat to me. I like how the face emerges from totally black shadows. I'm curious how you got the exposure so accurate onboth the lighted portions of the face, and also the flame othe blowtorch. It'sreally amazing to see that muchdetail in a flame. Is it due to the fact that it's blue instead of the usual bright white?

The blue flame was about the same for exposure as the facial lighting. Had I waited until the metal was heated, it would have changed the exposure conditions.
