I think this photograph would have worked much better if you stepped back just a little to get the top of the flame and a little more of the finger/hand & lighter. The juxtaposition of the "cold" blue background with the flame is nice.

This is excellent. I really like the deep blue background.

I think this lends itself better to a vertical composition though...one which would have allowed you to capture the entire flame. Also, I'd prefer to see either more of the thumb, or none of the thumb. This existing composition I think would be even stronger if more of the blue background at left was cropped out.

Getting such a good exposure like you did of a subject like this is tricky, particularly since that lighter must have been getting hot while you composed/focused. I'm impressed.
