Simple and really effective. Love the shadows and their shapes.

I think you interpretate the theme too literally.

Clean and simple and beautiful! A true play on the "heat" theme! I really enjoy this photo in so many ways... the clean white backdrop, the crisp shadows, the upturn of the one pepper. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!

This is excellent in every way. Very beautiful red and details, DOF, etc.

Thanks for all your kind words! I'm sure you'll all be glad to know that these little critters, shortly after being photographed, were mercilessly hacked to pieces and thrown into a steaming vat of chilli ..... ;o)
Gorin - this was taken on a white cloth with a couple of tungsten 'hot' lights - it was a case of just playing with the exposure to get the right effect - a nice shallow DOF and the background being white-d out.

well done, great reds.

'Hot' comes to mind rather than 'Heat' - some beads of 'sweat' may have shifted the meaning towards Heat - I like the 'characters' in the picture and your composition.

Yes sir/mam, that's definitely heat....and perhaps my favorite kind too ;) I like how the peper in front is raised up as if to say "come on...I DARE you to eat us".
I like the composition, and the technique you used. and the image quality is excellent too. I'd like to learn how to do these pure-white-background shots.
