mysight said 444 days ago:

Nice take ,I know the peace sign well but not the other.

mysight said 444 days ago:

Well Anna Kay Pooh,I like this .

pursang said 444 days ago:

Those are some LONG thumbs!

JIMJIM said 444 days ago:

he he..nice characters, yo ;-))

Ana said 444 days ago:

was this done on the scanner? Really relevant...and though there are a lot places I can see lines over skin and such,it's still a great idea. it seems very skinny!

Tanja said 444 days ago:

peace&love!
great idea..isn't there a theme like this maybe coming up?
tobad the cutting out lacks on quality..

flipthom said 444 days ago:

Very common hand gestures...great concept for the theme.

Nicely executed too.

Hummingbird said 444 days ago:

@Ana, yes, I did this on my scanner. It was the first time I had ever tried anything like that and I found it hard to get my big hands to fit on the scanner.

@Mark, long thumbs? You should see my big toes:)

Lange said 444 days ago:

Very striking. I unfortunately do not know if there is a message here (not familiar with the sign language alphabet, but I presume this may be saying something). Nice use of dark background.

King said 444 days ago:

Why does this remind me of a ChriZ or PThree photo?

Aren't you sorry you weren't paying adequate attention in masking around the left thumb? (minor point, but pretty obvious on this monitor. I thought it was glue at first.)

Otherwise, high marks. What do the hand signs stand for? V-Y? Wouldn't W-S be more appropriate?

King said 444 days ago:

Fooled me three times! Twice taken for ChriZ in this theme and now I'm kicking myself for not realizing that this was done with a scanner (which Ana picked up on right away).

Don't you know that you can't take photographs with a scanner? :>)

King said 444 days ago:

...obviously a scanner!

Hummingbird said 444 days ago:

@King, don't you recognize peace and love?

I am completely stunned that this featured.

King said 444 days ago:

I get peace, but not the other one. Shouldn't the pinky be held down?

Congratulations on another feature, ChriZ! er...um...Anna!

Hummingbird said 444 days ago:

King, now I'm actually not sure. I will have to google. What I thought was love ended up looking like "Hook em horns" so I knew that was wrong. Perhaps I have made up my own new hand gesture.

Ana said 444 days ago:

The sign has three letters of the ASL alphabet. The I, the L and the Y.
It means "I love you" and not "love."

Hummingbird said 444 days ago:

Thank you Ana. I just got through looking it up. Apparently I only know enough to be danerous.

Tanja said 444 days ago:

isn't it the u instead of the y..i love you = love. ;-)

mysight said 444 days ago:

Anna,way to go Sis!!!
Happy for you here.

Ana said 444 days ago:

The pinky alone is the letter I.
The forefinger and the thumb make the L
and the thumb and pinky make a Y.
:)

King said 444 days ago:

Put the two fingers of the "V" together and you get "U"...which is what Tanja is talking about, I think.

Tanja said 444 days ago:

back in school...we used to do some signing, which i really don't know if it's correct, but anyhow..
yes, stocking down the pinky.. I
then the L as Ana said..
and the u between the pinky & forefinger.
showing as you say it...(try as you read..something you can do at home)
everyone hear me out "i love you!" ;-)

Tanja said 444 days ago:

*so i might have been wrong all these years..but it's fun for kids to teach em this way..*
Make the I Love You Sign
The sign language dictionary "ASL Browser" has the I Love You sign. The sign blends the handshapes for the letters I, L and Y into one handshape.

ChriZ said 444 days ago:

Anna, congrats on the feature, nice take. I'm sure it's fun to try new things.
I won't talk about the masking though...
King, I guess you still haven't found my last one... it's a usual one so it might be hard to find!
