This photograph was taken of my grandmother before she passed away. She wouldn't let me take any of her face and it inspired me to continue a series of images of my grandparent's hands. The images were shot in 3200ISO BW Ilford film (for its intense grain which I thought paired interestingly with the wrinkles in aged hands) and scanned. I love the texture in the image I chose to share here.

24 with my only niggle being the composition. Having her hands lower in the frame would have given it more impact for my taste. The softness of the blanket adds so much to your wonderful work.

alot of old hands posted to this theme..kinda reminds me of twisted where everyone posted barb wire. ;-)
interesting DOF you chose here, might have thought one would go for the finger tips, but this works very well.
it has a peaceful touch! which is so nice coming from an elderly person that has gone through so much!
high rates!

Beautiful composition. So wise and weathered, these hands.

Your words make this mean so much more Moodeous. I wish I could have taken pictures of my grandmother like this. A picture to treasure for sure.

Beautiful. I especially like the grain and small artifacts. One minor nitpick is I would add a bit more contrast to it but otherwise excellent!

I really like this image.
