It's a bit of a joke... a white balanced, slightly tinted black and white image. :) The cards themselves are rather weird... at first impression, they are over-priced and useless. However, of all such inane purchases, this one actually gets used all the time!
I often shoot these cards to get something neutral to base white balance on. My daughter, almost 3 at the time I think, carefully placed them for me here. None of the "real" shots interested me, though. LOL!

Shouldn't this be in color? It took me a minute to find this photo amusing, but now it makes me smile. Technically, this appears to be well done, although I think I see some sharpening artifacts (don't take me too seriously because I don't yet know that much about digital).
One assumes there is a baby on knees back there.
Nice work. High marks.

Hmmmmm what shade of white to paint the wood. Interesting crop. I like the tones.

All that effort to get the WB right, and then you process in B&W?
Fun shot, btw.

Nice! I like the sort of ageless quality of the hands.

OK this has hands.
I wanna know what kind of wood those boards are made of?!
Great grain.

Thanks everyone!
@King: it could well be sharpening issues... I prepared the file for print then downsampled for here. I probably should have undone the sharpening for print THEN downsampled.
@mysight: it's my father-in-laws deck... I can't remember what wood it is but there was something special about it. I'll ask him.

My wife thinks it's teak... she's usually right so I'll go with that! :)

What's going on here? I haven't the faintest idea. A great, intriguing shot. High marks
