I can see the attempt, but I am thinking perhaps lightening it up a bit would improve the impact and actually add a more surreal aspect.

Too dark plus the 'ghost' is wearing clothes which are a bit to nice to be scary..

Good start. Given that the double exposure was intentional, in order to make a spirit-like presence in the cemetary at night, I think it would be much more powerful if the ghost were naked and crouched, clinging to the tombstone. I'm thinking of traditional funerary statues, where beautiful nude women are figured greiving over the tomb.

I don't think of it as too dark. My suggestion of making the ghost nude was, partly, to make her more visible without lightening the photograph. Also, if she were immediately adjacent to the tombstone, it could be cropped in considerably, enlarging the highlight area and making the entire scene seem less dark.
