Hospitals are a good place to look for ghosts. This shot doesn't move me, but I think you are on the right track. I can image both ghosts full of grief for lost love and ghosts filled with a sense of relief from life's pain and misery.

This photo makes me remember how alone i felt, and how big the hospital seemed to become when i did night shifts as a nurse. It's the colours that get me there.

I can gather the "ghost" aspect, yet for me it is such a small part of the image that it does not have enough impact for me. Perhaps a different (tighter?) cropping would help.
