My first reaction was that this was a bit of a stretch for the theme. Moving past that, I didn't find anything remarkable about the shot. I commend you for trying something different, but the crop, the subject and the quality all miss the mark for me.

This is a bit flat. A play with the levels and/or curves might improve it.
