This is relevant, with his number four, there...
I don't mind the composition and that rail there is fine..I just wish there were a bit more space at the feet? Maybe that wasn't possible from this angle.

I lost money on this race. Old #4 couldn't come through for me. Me and my silly gambling habits ; )
Excellent capture.

I'm guessing this was made B&W to lessen some of the distractions in the background. It has worked to some extent, but the B&W conversion seems a bit flat. More contrast might help, but that would risk losing details in the darks of the horse.

Thats for your comments all.
Montage: Not at all - I just didn't like the colours of the original. I didn't actually see a problem with the background, and my eye was drawn to the strained face of the horse and rider, but I did up the contrast a little without trying to lose too much detail in the shadows and highlights.

Look close or you'll miss it. Very nice catch. Excellent relevance and impact. I do wish the focus was sharper, especially on the horse's head.

A nice grab. I had to look for a moment to find the four, but you rewarded the effort with a chance to explore the image more thoroughly. I find the rails in the foreground a little distracting and I think a crop that removed them or a higher angle for this shot would have made for a better image. High marks overall though.
