This is great. The color and subtle shadows around the edges really emphasize the middle. Simple and yet, relevant and beautiful.

This image shows some imagination for the theme. The picture shows initiative in the creator and that effort is unique. Your execution of the piece needs improvement in terms of quality. An image such as this can be dark, as it adds mood to the image, but it would be much better to have some definition in the shadows. It seems that during your adjustment of the image, you reduced the dark tones too much, which detracts from the visual interest. Also an image of this type either needs to be razor sharp or with a controlled blur. In this case you have hit the middle which does not serve the image well.

A good idea and with more attention to the execution, it would have yielded a better score from me.

This is a cool idea, but it just lacks some kind of punch for me. It all seems a bit too dark and muddy.

the problem with focus was that i had only brought my 70-300 lens with me, so this was shot in macro, in failing light, so i was using
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/5

which rather hindered the dof.

with regards to the lighting, i did indeed lighten it, in an attempt to boost the lovely sunset colours, which i guess added to the noise a bit :(
