The idea is very good! I am not sure if B & W was the most effective method for this image. I am curious... was the shallow DOF intentional or a result of lighting conditions etc?

A little of both, I have generally have horrible lighting (almost no natural light) in my home for photos, and I have a hard time compensating sometimes but do my best with what I can :)
