I like the composition of the grown up and the child but the feet are kind of dark and the window is distracting.

Gosh, I like the idea here a lot. I understand that the crop is probably your artitistic choice and for that reason I respect it, but I would really have preferred to see more of the person holding the baby. The lighting from the window works nicely and B&W is a good choice.
