Thanks Ana, though it looks like it's going to get passed over. :( I think it's good enough, but I'm pretty subjective ;)

A really striking image! Her expression is that of an adult and having that type of expression in a child makes it extraordinary. The face painting adds to the images, but still does not detract from her expression. My only niggle is I would like to have seen a bit more contrast. Other than that, this is a winner!

Now I must say that this is good, not only because it actually fits the theme (which, I'm sorry to say, a lot of the photos being submitted..and featured...are NOT faces, but portraits, heads, busts, bodies and even a sheep's behind!) but because it's an amazing photograph all around.
Congrats. VERY well deserved.

Guess I'll have to go check out the true definition of the Current Theme term before submitting photos.

I too think this photo should have been given the gold star!
