I really like these half face images. Because of the direct flash, it detracts from the drama of her eye and expression. Flat lighting is not flattering to the photo or the story of the image. I'm also curious why you chose to have the wall hanging so prominent in the image. It adds some eye movement and is a bit distracting all in one.

this was a photo i took last week, while rather drunk in our flat at University. So i cant claim to have thought through all of the aspects of the shot (flash, background etc). At the time, having a 'half face' photo just seemed like a good idea, and i think it worked.

but yep, this is a 'snapshot' photo really, i just thought it was artistic enough to pull it off.

the reason i have included so much of the background in this, was to detract away from the 'half face' look a bit, and give the photo a bit of space. i dont like images being too 'close'.

This reminds me of someone holding out a digital camera and taking a self portrait. Misses the mark for me.
