Some people might have a problem with the fact that you can only see a small portion of your face. I'm not one of those people. I love this. Dramatic and simple. High marks.

Perhaps a few people won't like the under exposure, but I think this works brilliantly. And at a really quick glance, I see a quarter moon! :D

For me, because I'm interested in people and portraiture, there isn't much sense in simply blacking-out so much of this otherwise engaging portrait, and blowing out the highlights at the same time. It's dramatic, but there's nothing wrong with shadow detail or getting in close to your subject.

My favorite part of this image is the ear and the subtle highlight along the edge of the collar.

Nice drama; I could use a little more light on the face, but I like the line created around his cheek/jaw.

I like what to photographer was trying to do, but I thought the picture was too dark to be striking.

Good shot. Simple composure, but very striking. Only thing I could say is maybe drop the edge of the coat and enlarge the image for more detail.

Thanks very much for the feedback guys. This was actually a snapshot taken outside in London of a friend of mine standing next to a powerful spotlight. I did drop the exposure down to give more shadow and add more impact but agree that it could be more tightly cropped and lightened a touch.
