Great lighting and good technique on keeping the face sharp. With cats, it's often very sharp noses and a lot of blur elsewhere. The angle and resulting compositon is a little disquieting as it kind of looks like a dismembered cat's head in a room--not that it is a bad thing...just unusual.

thanks for the comments. :)

this is our cat Denver, and of course, neither he nor any other animal was harmed taking this picture.

the photo was shot with a mobile phone, inches away from his face, and he was lying in his favourite "long-worm" position - that is why his head blocks out his entire body. no post-processing tricks were employed.

Good idea about the human version! I should try it with some skinny - or big headed - model.
