For me, there is no compelling contrast in either the tonal range of the image or the subject. Not very relevant for me. The framing/cropping at the top is distracting, either show the capital or don't.

Interesting subject. I'm not seeing the 'extreme contrast' here though. I find the image (not the subject) soft and a bit dull. Perhaps a little post processing could bring it out more. I'd tweak the curves and sharpen a bit. I'm guessing this shot was hand held in a difficult low light situation.

I am not sure if this really fulfills the contrast section.
