Why do you say that Ana?
Ana said 814 days ago:
To me, a portrait is a head shot, with focus on the eyes and face. This isn't a hard/fast rule with me, but it says 'Portrait" to me if the focus is on the face. This shot truly is of a girl and a dog, and not a portrait (which I also think of the focus being on one subject, and not two)
As I said, it's a cool shot. but it doesn't say "portrait" to me.

Thanks for getting back to me, I was just a little confused.
I see what you're saying, I guess 'portrait' means different things to different people. For me, this is a portrait of a girl with a dog, the dog is secondary in priority, a supporting factor. That's just how I shot it and see it, a realise we all see differently.
Also, I don't refine my definition of a portrait to one person or subject, a 'family portrait' for example, is still a portrait, but not just of one subject.
Thanks Ana.

The girl detracts from the portrait of the dog.
;)
Seriously, the dog seems more of a 'portrait' subject than the girl.
Cool shot, though.
