For me, this works perfectly for the theme, a shed load of drama and superb execution.

I find photos like this -- with an underlying sense of emotional violence or betrayal -- disturbing. This is quite disturbing but in a subtle way. I think it's really welldone!

The only thing I wish wasn't in the image is what seems like a roll of TP behind the man's head.

It's very emotive image.

Is that guy dead back there?

smudo said 815 days ago:

for real? there are tears, but no sorrow, in her face. no running make-up either. what's the story behing this shot, i wonder. like it alot!

smudo said 815 days ago:

ah, benny, i figured it was you...;)

I'm not good at portraits or people photo taking.. but i like this.. i think its her red hair that really stands out for me.. along with the tear... excellent :)

This isn't a dramatic portrait. It's a whole damned novel - and one that I really want to read.

I can't count the number of reasons why I love this picture.

Very cool! Not sure if she left him that way, or found him that way... and maybe he's not even alone right now. Good composition.

thanks for the comments. the tears, well, my finger and a glass of water made for that. plus it was the end of a long shoot so i think maybe she was almost in tears anyway...

shot with a large softbox over my left shoulder and a fairly shallow depth of field.

if i could shoot it again? yeah, i'd get rid of the toilet paper, and have a stylist on the shoot because by this time her hair was looking a bit of a mess.
