Too tight, too bright, and I don't get a sense of the person. It seems more like a novelty shot. It does not make the subject appear in a very attractive light, or for that matter in any particular light at all. I have some images taken of me like this when I was playing with my 2-year old and the camera flash. The startled eyes lend the image a certain creepiness, but ultimately I think it might work better if you really lower the brightness and soften the image.

I can see where Flatline is coming from but the special thing about this person being captured here( poorly likely) is religious zeal. In fact I incorporated versions of this into my the pict resources of my copy of Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri to personify the BELIEVER faction.

It is dramatic, but I feel like it would have worked better if we could see the whole face. And the lighting is really harsh.
