OK, having read dseguin's comment I have to say I had no idea this was a photo of someone dealing with cancer. It is amazing what prior knowledge can do to weight one's opinions, because before I saw that I didn't really like this shot, nor did I think it dramatic in the slightest. Now I have read that I do see the drama. And yet the photo is the same one. Context is everything I suppose, which is why having no prior information on a shot I think is a very good idea in this challenge as it lets us be brutally honest about what photographs in their rawest form say to us.
