the grain is great, but I find it hard to tell what it is.

I don't think "light" when I glance at this picture. I really see the focus on the bridge.

This just doesnt float for me. It leaves me guessing how you intend this to meet the brief - I dont feel the drama

thanks for your feedback :-)
no one see the dramatic light in the clouds?
and yes, the quality is very very good for a pinhole camera shot. agfa klack, ilford 400 b/w slidefilm

King said 671 days ago:

Good reason for a long, horizontal crop. I'm assuming you were deliberately using a fast film and that you processed the film and made the print yourself, and that this is a scan from the print.

How close is my guess?

Good work!

Oh, dammit, Vernon...I just gave you all fives on this image, and a 6 for grain. If I had known it was you...

King said 671 days ago:

Vernon...now I'm hurt that you haven't bothered to rate my other submission...not the featured one...you'll have to guess. Hint: it's a b/w. I didn't have to rate this fine photograph. I did it because I wanted to.

VernonTrent said 671 days ago:

@king
the format of the film is 6x9 cm (agfa klack)
this image is a little bit cropped at the top and bottom and is a scan from a small print. it was my best seller on ebay for over 1 year (185 sales) format 120x60cm on canvas.

p.s.
I rate _all_ images posted in WS. not only the "red" ones :-)

Very impressive. I rate many images and focus on commenting, but I have cut back on criticism, constructive or otherwise. Because of that, I tend to comment on photos that I like, irrespective of their releavance or other qualities that get an image featured.

P.S. - my questions remain unanswered: did you process the film and make the print yourself? or was it done by your lab?

VernonTrent said 670 days ago:

@king
sorry, thought you already knew that all processing is done by myself. developing, printing, etc.
my own lab @home. :-)
