This is quite a striking image. The only thing is I'm not quite sure what's going on? It looks like he is daubed in mud. Why, I don't know. Also, I can't quite decide whether the blown out area on the right is too off putting or not.

I don't see that the light is adding the drama, for me it is the pose and ?dirt splatter, the light is just making it bright...imho
