I like the composition and the almost abstract limbs and body parts, but the lighting isn't dramatic enough.

I think I would have prefered this image in focus - especially for a still shot dramatically lit.

Thank you so much for your comment Jarrett!
This photo is a favorite of mine.
Medium format Kiev 88 / Polaroid back 3000 ASA
that is where the softness is coming from.
I figured I would catch some quality remarks...since I don't have a scanner and shot it with my d70 - it is a little confused!

wha about little lower? :) anyway, nice!

i think subtle can be dramatic.
but...i think about a lot of things.

This image is much too blurry for my tastes.
uncommondepth said 630 days ago:
I'm guessing it will get featured strictly because it's a nude.

ouch.
it is part of life....skin that is.

Dramatic lighting, to be sure. I don't know what it is, but there's something about this shat that just doesn't seem quite right. Maybe the soft focus is a little too soft?
Montage said 630 days ago:
...err shot, not shat :)

i believe the theme is dramatic, not erotic ligh; nice shot, however; my complements to the model, too

WOW.
I had no idea this was going to be "drama shot"!
It is the human body. It is beautiful.
This photo (uncommondepth & rosedaddy) was not strategically intended to "win" votes nor be "erotic".

Stunning

I like the dips of the knuckles in this shot.

Nice light, doesn't really scream dramatic to me though.

It is pleasing to see another image that isn't a landscape with hyper-exaggerated contrast or HDR tricks that in no way approximate the human experience--although some, as usual, are exquisite.
There are two things that could make it better...have at least one important point of focus and create a more dramatic pose...this is more repose than drama.

@reality...I'm thinking about posting another nude next. My other one is the nude woman striding up the granite (#41...is that cheating?).
I hope this image is featured on the quality of its character, nude or not.

I like this, it's gentle. I can imagine that others had focus issues (haven't seen the comments yet) but I like the softness here. I also like the composition in the square frame. It might have been interesting to follow the curvature of the arm, and to burn the little bit of hip and leg at the far right of the image into total blackness. That way the eye travels right along a rollercoaster from the shoulder to the hand.

That's very good. And I particularly enjoy how you did this with a totally square crop. It really works well with your composition. I suppose some will say they wish it was sharper, but I think softness is OK with this type of subject.
