Amazing photo.

Superb image. Effective use of light with drama caused by its artistic use rather than its intensity. Bravo.

At last, a perceptive critic! (he said, smiling). Thanks, Jeff.
Thanks all, in fact.

hi king - perfect composition. an amzing photo. congrats.

@brsanthu
There are no special effects or Photoshop manipulation in this image whatsoever...it is simply upside down, and designed to be viewed that way.
The model is sitting on a stool and doing a backbend toward the camera. Weights on her feet kept her from falling backward.
All of the lighting is inverted. Lights on the floor are shining up against her arms and the top of her head. The background is lit to go from dark to light, rather than what we usually see...for instance, a clear sky goes from lighter at the horizon to darker as we look up.
It's a pretty powerful illusing, and when I look at the image right-side up, I think it looks upside down.

Superbly simple and graphic image. Not sure that the light itself is dramatic but the graphic nature created by it's control sure is.
King said 610 days ago:
Thanks, dcreighton. I've been thinking about this theme. Unless one is photographing the sun or another light *source* (e.g., my lightening shot), one is simply observing light boucing off an object (water drops in the atmosphere, for instance). One is photographing the way light bounces off objects and creates shadows. I think that most of the images submitted in this theme are simply photographs of things that convey a sense of drama in this way...not photographs of "dramatic light" per se. My contribution above is a nude black woman apparently suspended in space...a dramatic (if I may say so) scene created largely by a controlled use of light and shadow.
Thanks again for the kind words.

As I mainly photograph landscapes - my own personal interpretation of dramatic light (in the landscape) tends to be atmospheric conditions where the light itself is pretty much playing the lead role in the image. To do this there is usually haze or mist that enables the light to be seen by reflecting in the atmosphere or objects blocking the light to create shadows on the ground or in the atmosphere. I guess it’s very open to interpretation - perhaps Dramatic Lighting would have been a better theme title.

It´s not that dramatic, but really beautiful.
