Very beautiful - it takes a while to focus in on the shot and it hits you on an emotional level (and I don't do emotion when it comes to pets!!) I adore the colouring and the softness works a treat on this!

poor lighting, sad doggy

I love the colouring and the grainy feel but it's a little too dark to make out much detail

I wish it was a bit clearer, overall it is ok.

This image really caught my eye. It is probably the low vantage point and the ,for me, ominous look in the dog's eye. Fido is maybe gonna take my leg off? This picture gives me access to expressions that are probably going on all the time down at "dog level" The gold tone makes it somewhat other worldly which for me is oddly effective, but I can't quite say why.... Thanks for this interesting image!

After reading the comments before mine, I am reminded that sometimes I can react strongly to an image that is not sharp and has all kinds of "technical" problems. Lots of the "masters" photographs often were slightly blurry or showed lens distitortion. While this shot may not be everyone's cup-o-tea, I still enjoyed reacting to a non technically perfect image which shows me that photographers make images, not just fancy cameras.

I really like the tones, lighting, and composition in this one. My only complaint is there is no lighting in the eye. A lot of a dogs personality comes from the eye, so it's important to me, to be able to have some detail there.

thank you all for your comments ...no, it's not a "sad" doggy but only an "emotional" dog !! (and yes, an "around midnight shot" ...)
"..change your heart and look around you.."
