looks like an ipod?
I see some curves but too much blur.

Very cool shot. I wish the triangle was a little bit sharper to hold my eye, but this is a really neat abstract. I love the gray tones and shiny quality.

This one does nothing for me. I realize finding adequate curves to compete with some of the amazing images we've had in this theme is difficult, but a close up of a cell phone is just boring IMHO.

Please ignore the following. I've simply lost my mind. Don't hate me for this. Sometimes it just comes out and I don't have any control.
Shallow depth of field isn't one photographer's trademark technique...it's every photographer's trademark technique. I'm getting tired of it. If it doesn't serve a specific purpose to shoot wide open, try using a tripod or some of the other apertures on your lens--f8 is one of my favorites.
Ho! Ho! Ho! It's Christmas Eve, King...Lighten Up!
Okay, sorry, I'm using your space to vent. This reminds me of one of Vernon's guitar photos, but it looks more like a DVD player, a game controller or somthing. That's it...it's a trendy game controller and I'm not with it or I'd recognize it.
Okay, I don't know what it is. What do you like about the image, King? Say something nice, for pity's sake. You don't know whose photograph this is. You may be offending someone you'd rather suck up to [insert list of about 10 regular WS contributors].
<Nice>It seems to me that this is an honest attempt to fulfill the requirements of the Curves theme. There is a wide tonal range, creating pleasing contrasts and interesting shapes. The subject is flat, two-dimensional, but the composition prevents the eye from becoming static and creates counter-balancing tensions that reveal careful observation.</Nice>
The photographer may have been influenced by the irrational popularity of shallow depth of field, otherwise known as bokeh, popularized on WS by owners of expensive, high-quality, 85mm f1.2 lenses. But, as Dorothy Parker wrote of Hemingway, "...Hemingway has an unerring sense of selection. He discards details with a magnificent lavishness; he keeps his words to their short path. His is, as any reader knows, a dangerous influence. The simple thing he does looks so easy to do. But look at the boys who try to do it."

...sigh, I feel better now.
I so sorry, EmTee, to have ranted on your first submission to WS. If you hang around long enough, you will get used to it. Nothing personal was intended.
I see that Vernon Trent invited you, so ask him about that fat bastard King. I'm really pretty harmless.

Hey, Emtee, I understand that you are a very young guy and passionate about photography. Good for you.
I'm sorry that I and others offered some hard critiques of your photograph. Believe me, I could never have taken this good a photograph when I was your age. You will improve very quickly. Vernon Trent is a guy who is much admired, so ask him for some tips and see if he will lend you that lens I was talking about.
Keep shooting, my young friend!

ok folks, this post is on behalf of EmTee.
I do this for EmTee as his english is not so weak.
EmTee is a young boy, 9 years old and the youngest member of our photography club which was initiated and is sponsored by myself.
this shot is taken on 35mm film and EmTee ran thru the whole process: shot, developing, printing, scanning and post to WS and other online galleries.
as he asked me to invite him, he got all the "warnigs" and "instructions" from me and he aggreed.
he is also working to improve his english and soon he will have a photoblog as well. stay tuned, he said.
as a sidenote for EmTee
I thought yesterday morning that I know this shot but did not realized that is yours :)))
happy christmas!

iPod? or equivalent? kinda interesting, though perhaps not enough to keep me wanting more. Just one person's opinion :-)
