Lovely shot but for this theme I think it would have worked better if you cropped off the lovely human fellow on the bottom.

Beautiful shapes, arches, circles in a good b/w rendering. I'm ambivalent about the person in the foreground. Compositionally, this is a complex photo that could be cropped many ways. For my tastes, the crop is too tight at the top (circle tangent with top of frame) while you seem to have had plenty of room at the bottom.

Its the Metropolitan Museum in NYC.

I had another shot without a person. but preferred this one. I wanted her to become a shape herself. shes almost silhouetted anyway. and i loved how the shape of her hair/head mirrored the arch to the left and behind her in the back. of course this was all accidental and not thought of while shooting, but i did like that afterwards.

and yeah i agree that i wished i pointed a bit more when I shot it and gotten just a smidge more or so on the top, but 'tis what it is. im glad i got that edge though.

This is why sometimes I'd love the viewer/rater to be able to read an explanation of why he/she posted the photographer. I see what you were after but didn't when I looked & commented on it initially. I also wish one can change their rating.

Perfect for the theme. I like the composition, except I would have liked it a bit more if you had moved forward a step or two so there was a bit of white space between the outer circle around the light and the top of the arch (tipping the camera up a bit more to keep the arch within the frame). I also find the person distracting.

Although, I didn't notice him until I had the picture up for scoring which means that maybe this could be worked with? Don't know, I think I hear sushi calling me.

great image. i would have liked to see the person at the bottom cropped out somehow. maybe have waited to take the shot when they left. otherwise 5's from me.

i appreciate all the comments. I still prefer it with the person in the frame though. i guess its just my personal opinion. I feel it works not only with the photo but with the theme.
