I like this, but I wonder if it wouldn't have had more impact with a bit more depth of field? At least one more loop in clear focus might have made it more powerful. What is it, by the way?

Great composition and impact, I could have used a bit more DOF, but that's just me. High marks all around though.

A deeper DOF would reveal more details and make the image more interesting. Try using a noise reduction program/plugin - it shows very easily in out-of-focus areas.
