Right on! High marks for me, but since this is a critique I wish the sky were a little more... interesting I guess. The navy blue seems drab and unlikely, but it really does work with the yellow of the sign. So yeah... maybe I shoud just keep my mouth shut. I like it :)

But don't you find this image to be a bit of a cliche? I defer to you because, of all the WS contributors, you may be the most expert on this topic, by your own admission.

Permit me to quote you: "...my only featured image felt totally cliche to me. Most of the images I've submitted are cliche."

[N.B. to WS Comment Police: the preceding comment to moodeous was to point out something really funny he posted on an unfeatured image in the last Theme]

This is a nice shot and I don't take issue with any of the positive remarks made above, but I think that if it were to be submitted near the end of the Theme week, it wouldn't be any more likely to be featured than a photo of a solitary wading shore bird if submitted yesterday (e.g, Vernon Trent's fine photograph).

Let that be a lesson to one and all. Submit your best work early and submit often.

I just know I'm going to catch hell for this.

@ King, Honestly, I find that all of my early submitted photos get crappy ratings and the shots I submit later in the week do better. Speed ratings, if you will seem to occur with the first 40 photos, no matter if there are comments left or not. Hardly ever more than one comment on my earlier shots. Seems the second and third days are best for getting more substantial 'non speed rated' photos with more comments. :)

I've only done a few weeks, so I haven't gotten any feel for trends just yet.

@Ana and Magician378...I rarely get to submit photos very early because of my day job, so I haven't had the experience you have had. Thanks for setting me straight.

I'm very excited about having some time off for the holidays and my many comments today have been, perhaps, over exuberant, but so have my ratings. So, Dextr, I appreciate your patience with me.
