The easy answer is that this is a straight photograph from a laser light show, but I don't think this is the case. I've had a lot of experience with images that look like this, yet this is different. I can't tell if it is multiple exposure, the movement of lights or light reflecting material or the movement of the camera tracing stationary object. It could be a combination.

However, nowadays this could be done in Photoshop, so it may not have been technically challenging.

I can say this with certainty: this is very well done. It is facscinating, pleasing to the eye and illustrates the theme to the Nth degree.

How does one rate Technique on this image?

...and of course, in this season, one also suspects Christmas lights as a possible scenario, so this could be another Happy Holiday image. Thanks!

Thanks for the coments! This is a bulb exposure of stationary christmas lights. It was contrasted from the raw conversion, but the technique was all handheld.
